Commercial Blocks
I only watch TV shows I recorded on my DVR, so I’m constantly fast-forwarding through commercials, and I use the 30 second advance button.
Do you realize that there will be four minute commercial blocks early in a show, but six (and sometimes eight) minute blocks of commercials later in a show? Why? Because they know you’re not engaged enough in the show early on to wait six minutes for it to return. But once you’ve been watching for awhile, you’re not going to leave, so they can give you what you don’t want for longer.
So, if you’re a pastor, or a professional communicator, what do you learn from that? How does it apply to what you do?
