Alright, I shared this at Verve last month, so might as well share it with the world.

The next time you’re looking for a cheap date … think about … the free donuts at your local car mechanic.

Now it’s helpful if you’re actually bringing your car in to get it fixed, or at least looked at.  But if not, maybe just show up, explain that you believe in dating your spouse, have no cash, and would like to take advantage of the delicious free donuts.  Who could say no to a romantic sob story like that?
