I Think We’re Afraid

Why do I prefer to hide in my office at church after the service, checking my fantasy football score, rather than being in the lobby with hurting people who need me? Why do we sit on our couches and watch other people live their lives on our flat screen, when there’s a life out there for us to live? Why are we more passionate about our team winning the game than about the eternal impact we can make with our lives? Deep down, I think we’re afraid.
