About

I have that typical story, told too many times: Guy grows up in home with Jewish mother and gambling addict father, guy becomes a Christian in college by trying to prove the Bible isn’t true, guy leaves career in law to become a pastor, guy starts church in Virginia Beach that grows from four people to hundreds, guy leaves church in Virginia Beach to move to Las Vegas to start church on the Vegas Strip.

Yeah, it’s kinda clichéd, but it’s my story so…what can I do?

In addition to that basic boring story line I also am part of a non-profit that is doing humanitarian aid work in remote villages in Vietnam, and am part of starting a new non-profit that will be doing community service to meet needs on and around the Vegas Strip. Almost forgot to mention, I’m in a stand-up comedy show here in Vegas.

I also have an amazing wife named Jennifer, two incredible kids, and one stupid dog. I grew up in a small town but now live in Sin City. I hate math but love the Counting Crows. I also love Cameron Crow movies, but that’s the extent of my affection for anything crow-related. I haven’t been named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man of the Year … yet. I love The Office but hate working in offices. I have a fantasy football team named the Screaming Debutants. I love the Los Angeles Dodgers, Mongolian barbecue, and cream soda. I have never seen Oprah Winfrey’s show, but my weight tends to fluctuate like hers’. I love Snow Patrol, but avoid snow at almost any cost. I root hard for the University of Illinois (where I went to Law School). I love to write, and … my father was on America’s Most Wanted. (So at least I’ve got that going for me.)

Yup, that’s me.

This blog is mainly me sharing my journey and about trying to make a difference in Vegas.
