Hey Whiny Christians (1 Peter 2)

I’m sharing a thought or two each day from the chapter in the New Testament reading plan some of us are doing.

So today’s reading (1 Peter 2) just points out how far today’s whiny, “I’m not being fed here,” consumeristic, cry baby Christians are from God’s desire and design. Peter says once a person tastes that God is good they will crave Him and this will cause them to grow. He says that every member of a church is a priest with direct access to God. He assumes that Christians are capable of living holy lives and having a significant impact on people who don’t know Jesus.

So how does the whole, “I’m not being fed here … this church isn’t giving me what I’m looking for … why doesn’t this church … I need my pastor to ….” attitude fit with that?

It doesn’t.
