Something For Sluggards (Proverbs 6)

The thing that really caught my attention in today’s reading (Proverbs 6) were the verses about being a sluggard.

I’m a Type A, overachiever, crazy work ethic kind of guy. Not bragging, it’s just who I am; I have no choice. So I sometimes have people telling me to take it easy, to relax, to stop and smell the roses.

And I understand that, but whether it’s right is quite a conundrum. In these verses we are basically urged, “Do not take naps. Get up and get to work.” And we have Paul telling us that if you’re married live as if you’re not because life is short and there’s a lot to accomplish for God.

And I know that if I asked for comments most people would say, “It’s about balance. It’s finding the right balance” which totally sounds right, but I’m not sure is Biblical…

Once again, I don’t have the answer, I just see the question. Any thoughts?
