What God Doesn’t Want (2 Peter 3)

Three weeks ago I moved to Las Vegas to start a new church on the Strip. I had no desire to move to Vegas, and I’ve started a church before – which was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done – so wasn’t thrilled to go through this again.

So why am I here? Why am I doing this? It’s because of what God doesn’t want. What does God not want? Today’s reading (2 Peter 3) tells us. It says that what God doesn’t want is for anyone to perish.

Church planters, that’s why we do what we do, right? Because we love God, and God loves people, and so we love people, and so our heart beat is 2 Peter 3:9 – we want no one to perish but everyone to come to repentance. And if that’s not our heart beat, then we’re the one’s who need to come to repentance.
