Innovate
I have a friend who has been doing ministry here in Vegas for awhile, and is also totally smart, and he’s been helping me think through stuff. He’s been saying things to me like,
“To start a church for a different place like the Strip,
you’re going to have to do church differently.”
“Churches that have tried to be on or near the Strip in the past didn’t work because they didn’t try to make it a church for the Strip.
It can’t be the same as a church for anywhere else.”
“Seriously, you’re going to have to innovate.”
Okay, no pressure there… But actually, innovating is not something I struggle to do. And, actually, I already have a bunch of pretty innovative ideas. The hard part is having the wisdom to know which innovations are also intelligent.
