Innovative and Evaluative
I’m gonna do a series this week “announcing” some of the decisions we’ve made on what Verve is going to look like, outside of our worship services and youth/children’s ministries. How will we connect and grow people and serve our community together?
We are exploring some pretty unique ideas for our (corporate worship) services, and it will be interesting to see where it all ends up. But we’ve also been researching, thinking, talking, and praying hard about what the rest of the picture might look like. After six months of working on that before arriving, and another six months since landing in Vegas, we finally have some answers.
One thing to note is that this is how we’re going to start, but it’s not necessarily forever. At Verve, we believe that everything is an experiment. We want to be innovative (not for the sake of being different, but to make sure we don’t just fall into doing things the way they’ve always been done, and to try to find the most effective way to accomplish God’s mission for us) and then evaluative (seeking to determine if what we’re doing is working and, if not, how we need to change).
So this is how we’re going to start, and we’re hoping that it will work and be the way we continue, but we’ll just have to see.
