Launch Team Format

Thought I’d share a little about what we’re doing with our Launch Team – for those who might be interested. Yesterday I shared the play list I created for our meetings.

Here’s our format:

We have been meeting from 5:00 to 7:30 or 8 p.m. The first thing we do is eat dinner together. One of the awesome people on our team has taken on the responsibility of coordinating the meals. It’s something different every week.

Then we crowd into my living room. If there is someone new, and that’s been pretty common, we get to know each other’s names.

Then, typically, we play a game. Why? Because we value fun, because it creates energy, because it can be a bonding experience, because I like to win at stuff.

After that we have done several things. We always pray at least a little, but have had a couple nights where we spent a looong time in prayer. A couple times we did a game night, and one time watched a movie. But most often we spend a big chunk of our night doing vision casting / teaching time. Why? Well, sometimes the goal is spiritual growth, and sometimes it’s to help everyone get on the same page as far as what kind of church Verve is going to be.
