Underrated?

Reading today’s chapter (Hebrews 5) this morning, a word stuck out for me. Here’s the verse, without the word:

8Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who _______ him.

What word do you think goes in that spot? Jesus became the source of eternal salvation for all who … what Him? Believe in Him? Repent for Him? Confess Him? Turn to Him? Love Him?

Those would have probably been my top choices, but the correct answer is … drum role please … wait for it … almost there … “obey.” I am in no way saying that believe, repent, confess, turn to, and love are not important. They are. But maybe “obey” is underrated? Maybe you and I underrate the importance of obedience?
