Love, Command; Command, Love

After today’s reading (2 John), I want to make sure I’ve got this straight:

Old command: Love one another
Love = Obeying God’s commands
God’s commands = Walk in love

Okay, I’m a little confused, but I am pretty sure that we’re supposed to love people.
