Swear An Oath

The thing that struck me from today’s reading (Psalm 132) is that there is a lot of swearing an oaths. In verse 2, David is “swearing an oath” to God. In verse 11, God is “swearing an oath” to David.

The reality is that God has sworn an oath to me and to you. He’s committed to you. Committed the life of His Son, committed His care, His provision.

The question is: Have I sworn an oath to Him? Have you? Have I really committed my life to Him, or do I serve Him when it’s convenient? Have I really committed this day to Him, or is He just something I’ll try to squeeze into it somewhere?

What’s your answer? Swear an oath?
