Your Deeds
The prevailing theology of the day tends to swing back and forth, as one generation over-corrects the errors and biases of the previous generation.
Right now we live in an age where faith and the gospel are central, and a focus on works and deeds is scoffed at. But today’s reading (Revelation 3) makes it obvious that our deeds are not unimportant to God. We’re told (repeatedly) that God knows our deeds, that He will judge our deeds and that they need to be complete in His sight.
That’s not to say that faith isn’t critical, or to deny the centrality of the gospel, but we are crazy if we don’t also focus on our deeds and teach people to do good works for God.
