So let me tell you about one of my favorite moments in my “preaching” “career.” One time I spoke at a church in Rochester, New York. The pastor at that church is the father of a guy who had attended and served as an intern at my church in Virginia Beach. He is one of the sharpest young guys I’ve ever met. He happened to be in Rochester and heard me that day. After my message he came up and said, “I finally figured out who you remind me of. You’re like the preaching version of Bill Simmons.”
That was ridiculous. Like ridiculously cool. And my recommendation for this week, this is for you sports fans, is Bill Simmons. He is a columnist for ESPN and is hysterical and the king of (brilliant and zany) pop culture references.
