Best Actor

With the Academy Awards this week, I thought I’d have the audacity to tell you who should win if they gave acting awards for all the movies (well, all the movies I’ve seen and can remember) from 1980 to 2010.  Last, the Best Actor:

Honorable Mention:  Philip Seymore Hoffman in Capote, Jack Nicholson in About Schmidt, Robert Duval in The Apostle, Billy Bob Thornton in Slingblade, Anthony Hopkins in The Silence of the Lambs, Dustin Hoffman in Rainman

Nominated:  Robert Duvall in The Great Santini, Robert DeNiro in Raging Bull, Sean Penn in Milk, Tom Hanks in Castaway, Robert Benigni in Life Is Beautiful, Tom Hanks in Philadelphia

The Winner:  Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood
