$5 A Day?!

I’m a big fan of The Black Keys. Love their music, love the insane fact that they create it with only two band members.

Like most bands, it took The Black Keys awhile to hit it big. The guys from the band recently appeared on the TV show No Reservations and talked about how for quite awhile they each budgeted $5 a day for food. That’s all they could afford, so that’s what they did. One said he ate wonton soup everyday.

Those are the sacrifices you make when you’re first starting out, if you’re serious. And it’s the same for church planters. When you’re first starting out, if you’re serious about the mission, you go without. You work your butt off, and you sacrifice, then you work some more. It’s worth it. And it’s the path to success.

If you need examples of how people that are church planting and just getting started or honestly are setting any goal and are trying to save money I can give them a breakdown of how they can have up to 5 meals a day for $5,00 a day and that includes steak dinners with vegtable and potato. They don’t have to just eat a sub sandwich, survive on just soup, or pick through garbage cans either. They just have to schedule an hour of their time to plan their shopping properly once a week, and they can eat all kinds of good stuff, maybe loose some wieght, and eat whatever they want, and yes, all for under $5.00 a day.
