Venting In Vegas
Okay, I’m gonna be honest. Last night was the first time I’ve really lost sleep about starting this church. I know you’re supposed to lose sleep a lot doing this kind of thing, but I’m not a lose sleep kind of guy. IF I can fall asleep, I tend to sleep pretty good. And I’m not much of a worrier, stress out kind of person … at all.
But I woke up really early this morning, like closer to the middle of the night than the morning, and just kept running numbers in my head. The numbers were how many volunteers it would take to pull off what we want to do: How many people do we need in the Children’s Ministry? In the lobby? Running the A.V.I.? In the band?
And (wanting to be a church that launches with Sunday morning and Monday evening services – for people who work weekends) I just couldn’t make the numbers work. So finally, after a couple hours of alternating between doing the math and praying for more people so the numbers will work, I was like, “Alright, screw it, I’ll get up.”
So I plan on being tired today … and I’m wondering if you could pray that God will give us some more people so the numbers will work. (Thanks.)
