The Week In Brief(s) (7/26/09)

Every Sunday I’m sharing a recap on some of what happened that week. It will be quick (in brief) and I’ll write in my underwear (in briefs). Here ya go:

1. Spoke at Revolution Church. Had a great time and was very impressed.

2. Connected with Chad, who is on staff at Revolution, and who may be able to help us with buying all the equipment we’re going to need for Verve.

3. Our Launch Team met (without me) and had three first time people.

4. I’m excited about our Launch Team. Like I had one of our people, actually one of our newest people, e-mail me with a community service idea, and then volunteer to be the point person for it. Sweetness.

5. Excited about this idea my friend Neal is promoting to raise money for Verve. Want to get in on it?

6. Got e-mails from two people who will be moving to Vegas in the Fall to attend U.N.L.V. and want to become a part of Verve when they get here.

7. Had, I think, two more churches commit to bring out Mission Teams from their church to help us prep for our preview or Grand Opening services. Yeah! Why don’t you bring out a team?

8. Had my first “discipleship group” meeting with two guys on the Launch Team. Awesome guys who it will be fun to get to know, and to watch as God uses them to turn the world upside down.

9. Someone on our Launch Team got a job (!!) and someone who might be moving here got a job interview (!!).

10. Worked a lot on our budget.

11. Had a couple new financial commitments come in. Thank you to everyone supporting what we’re doing!

12. Worked on our “marketing plan” – I’ve got some cool ideas. I guess we’ll see what happens.

TO PRAY ABOUT THIS WEEK:

1. I have got a TON of meetings this week – with my Management Team, with members of our Launch Team, with a guy from the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, etc. Please pray that they’re all productive and God is in control.

2. We are in the process of making decisions about equipment – what we need to buy, who we’re going to buy from, how much money we can spend, etc. Please pray for wisdom.

3. I’m going to try to lock things up with the Rave movie theater this week – please pray that goes smoothly.
