Wierdo (Acts 27)
When I’m hanging with people who aren’t Christians, I typically try to focus more on what we have in common than on what makes us different. I figure they know about the differences, but may not realize that we’re similar in many ways. This way we can build our relationship, and hopefully I get to kind of build a bridge.
But I’m thinking that in the story from today’s reading (Acts 27) Paul came off like a weirdo. There must have been thoughts like, “What’s up with this guy?” and “Who does this guy think he is?”
May God grant us the wisdom to know when to speak up, and when to be silent. When to be similar, and when to be different. When to be normal, and when to be a weirdo.
